Morris Gross (Морис Гросс) was employed by the Asiatic Petroleum Company. Morris felt ill with abdominal pain. He consulted local doctors who advised him to operate on his appendix. As he was planning home leave he delayed the operation hoping to have it done in England. 
However feeling ill again he was operated on, but did not survive the post operative complications. During his stay in Tientsin he was an active member of the Jewish School and Keren Haeysod.
